Steps away from the historic Sunriver Lodge, a quick walk up to the Village for shopping and restaurants, and trails everywhere, it's a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement for everyone. The Story of our Lodge Homes...
Our homes are one of the original lodge homes built in 1968, and among the very few that remain privately owned. With its timeless rustic design, classic rock fireplaces, old-growth timber ceilings, and unobstructed views of Mt. Bachelor, this home sits in what many still consider the very best location in all of Sunriver. Just a short stroll to the main lodge, the Village Mall, restaurants, and recreational activities, it truly captures the spirit of Central Oregon.
Our family's Sunriver story began in 1975, when Bob, then a student at Oregon State University, first stayed in the lodge homes while skiing at Mt. Bachelor. He was so taken with the resort that he quickly shared it with his family — and a tradition was born.
That very next Christmas, Bob, his parents, and his three brothers came to Sunriver for the holiday, and a tradition was born. In 1979, Bob’s parents jumped at the opportunity to buy two adjacent Lodge units to accommodate their family and future families — a combined six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and two kitchens.
Since then, nearly every Christmas has been spent in Sunriver, surrounded by snow, trees, laughter, and the warmth of our family. Though Sunriver has grown significantly since those early days, the original Lodge homes and the Sunriver Lodge remain largely unchanged — a tribute to the enduring design and its natural beauty.
One major moment in the Lodge home’s history came in 1990, when a large resort company sought to acquire most of the original 90 lodge homes, recognizing the extraordinary location and architectural appeal. While most owners sold their places, five families held on tight — our family being one of them. That decision preserved not only the physical space but the soul of the family’s Sunriver legacy.
Today, the Lodge homes remain unmatched — nestled along the golf course, offering sweeping unobstructed views of Mt. Bachelor, vibrant sunsets, and immediate access to trails, dining, shopping, and adventure.
